The office was established by the law of
6 mars 2000 and the Defender has been named by the President of French
Republic in may 2000. |
| Initiator of the Ombudsman office |
After a parlementary inquiry asked by the
President of the Parliament, Laurent Fabius, who is now a member of the
Government (Minister of Economy), the French Parliament initiated and
voted an Ombudsman office. |
